About the Memorial

The memorial, designed by the architectural firm of Lavallee Brensinger, will consist of an octagonal brick structure with a green metal roof. Each face of the eight-sided memorial will bear the names of over 12,000 Manchester men and women known to have served in World War II. A star will mark the name of each serviceman or woman killed in combat. The structure will be approached via four "Pathways of Victory". There will be 16 benches and 20 granite posts integrated into the memorial.
